Profile
Ryo Kajitani is a Tokyo-based artist and art model. His current practice explores the photographed body as a site of visibility, misrecognition, memory, and transformation.
Kajitani studied oil-based woodblock printmaking at Tama Art University from 2010 to 2014. As a graduate candidate in studio-based practice, he studied under the late Kunio Motoe, an art historian, and Yutaka Nakamura, a cultural anthropologist.
After completing his studies, Kajitani has worked as a full-time graphic designer and art model. Since 2021, alongside photography and collage, he has incorporated code-based image processing into his practice, developing photo-collage works that combine sensibility with engineering-oriented methods.
